What is plant based cheese?

Plant based cheese is an entirely dairy-free, nut-based product that evokes the flavors you would find in dairy cheese. At Spirit and Abundance this means carefully crafting each wheel using traditional dairy cheesemaking techniques modified to suit the multitude of delicious plants we have in our kitchen.

“The Old Fashioned

A classic cheddar flavor. Sharp, savory, flavorful and creamy with a depth of flavor created from a cultured cashew nut base.

Into the Garden, goat cheese

“Into the Garden

A goat style cheese made from cultured almonds. Studded with thyme, rosemary and pink peppercorns, rolled in a mosaic of dried herbs and flowers. Tart, soft and melt in your mouth.

Ingredients: almonds, water, salt maple syrup, parsley, thyme, rosemary, Garden dust (parsley, rose petals, calendula petals), lactic acid, cultures

“Reverie”

A melt in your mouth delight inspired by triple cream. A mild cheese designed to pair with delicious spreads, jams, nuts or fruit.

Ingredients: cashews, coconut cream (Organic Coconut, Water, Organic Guar Gum), white beans, water, aquafaba, chickpea miso (Organic handmade rice koji, organic whole chickpeas, sun-dried sea salt, Blue Ridge Mountain well water, koji spores), coconut oil, maple syrup, lactic acid, salt, cultures
