Join myself and amateur herbalist Mike Deniz as we walk along Center Park in Fairport hunting for medicinal and edible plants. Mike will walk us through herbs that are easy to spot their uses in medicine and their lore. He will also walk us through some of the basic tools of the trade and some resources for further exploration into the vast world of wildcrafting (finding and harvesting herbs, roots and flowers) and herbalism. This class is best suited for those looking for an introduction to wildcrafting and herbalism.
This class is held outside along a path that is between 1 1/2 to 2 miles long. Please wear comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty as the class will only be cancelled if walking conditions are impossible due to excessive rain or mud.

About the Instructor
Mike is a trained biologist who spends his free time wildcrafting and creating salves, tinctures and other herbal remedies for himself and his loved ones. He has a blog where he shares his experiences and knowledge of herbs which can be found here.
*This class is for educational purposes only. Please speak with a physician or trusted professional before taking any herbs or homemade medicines. Myself and Mike are not doctors, dietitians, or trained herbalists and therefore we suggest restraining from harvesting any herbs during this walk for medicinal purposes before seeking professional advice
**After this class it is HIGHLY suggested you check yourself for ticks, this is just a precaution as we will be spending time near tree lines in the park
